Oriental Peony Blossom Macro

When I purchased this perennial many years ago the root had just 2 eyes and very small.  I have divided it many times for my own gardens and have shared with others.  I was told it is considered rare hence the $40.00 for the tiny root at that time.  This blooms very early in the spring and is a nice bushy perennial of about 1 1/2 feet for the rest of the year.  I stake it to keep it from flopping over in the rain and wind.  The leaves are "fern" shaped and most beautiful.  One of my favorite perennials, which I highly recommend to any gardener.
