Hosta Blossom/Stamen Macro

Took this shot with a Canon Rebel using the Macro Lens.  Love the detail in the stamen that would not be noticed without the magnification of the lens.  This perennial blooms in early summer but the leaves are equally beautiful.

Valerian Blossoms

Took this shot with my Canon Rebel.  Added a wood texture for visual interest. This perennial grew to a height of 8 feet (with blossom) and bloomed for about 3 weeks.  The blossoms are fragrant, unlike the root which is quite offensive.  The root is used for medicinal purposes; a sleep/relaxant aid.

Dried White Dahlia Blossom

After taking a photo of this I set it aside and once dry I found it attractive with the rustic markings on it. Added my own texture overlay in Photoshop CS5.

Plectranthus Vine leaves - closeup

Photography By Sandra Foster
This is a trailing vine with lush bright green leaves. Highly recommend it to cascade over the front of a large pot.

New Guinea Impatience Plant

I grew this as a outdoor potted plant. It bloomed till frost threatened then I brought it in and enjoyed it as a houseplant. The blossoms are very delicate.
